Water once a week
Extra plant nutrition every 2 weeks
Toxic for pets
Repot every 2 years
It is best to position the Asparagus in a spot with indirect sunlight. He likes this very much! Will the plant get too much light? Then its leaves may start to burn.
It is best to give the Asparagus a little water every week. Be careful about the amount of water you give. The plant should not have wet feet all the time. In that case, the Asparagus can develop root rot.
Repotting the Asparagus is not necessary every year. However, we do recommend that you buy a larger flowerpot for the plant every two years. It is best to choose a flowerpot that is at least 20% larger than its predecessor. This will give your Asparagus more room to grow and the plant will receive new nutrients.
It is not necessary to feed the Asparagus. Especially if you have a small variant Asparagus plant. This is because the Asparagus uses little nutrition. However, it can be a good idea to give the Asparagus diluted plant food every fortnight during the growing season. The growing season is from spring until the end of summer.
Asparagus can indeed be poisonous to humans and animals. It is therefore wise to be careful when the plant is near children and pets.
