Ferns can be placed in a reasonably dark spot. Whether it's partial shade or full shade. The Fern will do fine as long there is a little daylight in the room now and then. You need to keep the soil of the Fern moist, which means that you need to water it once a week.
The Fern also likes to be in high humidity, and it is therefore essential that you regularly spray the soil with a plant sprayer.
