Description

The Pachycereus pringlei is a bold columnar cactus with a powerful presence. In the wild it grows several metres tall, but even as a houseplant it makes a strong statement.

Origin

This cactus comes from the dry deserts of Mexico, where it thrives in full sun and rocky soil. It’s closely related to the famous Saguaro but often grows faster.

Care

Light

Loves full sun. Place it in the brightest spot you’ve got, ideally near a south-facing window. Morning and afternoon sun are great.

Water

Water very sparingly. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. In winter it can go weeks without a drop.

Humidity

This cactus prefers dry air and thrives in standard indoor conditions.

Toxic?

It’s not toxic, but the spines are sharp – so handle it with care when moving or repotting.

With its strong silhouette and low-maintenance nature, the Pachycereus pringlei is perfect for lovers of bold, sculptural greenery.
